- Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we're doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn't kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat's about what's online? So as you can imagine, we're focusing mostly on THAT. For what it's worth, the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site. The others (like the Ethan Haas sites) have nothing to do with us.
The Slusho logo from the site can be seen on the shirt of one of the characters in the movie trailer and in one of the pictures on 1-18-08.com (although in the picture it is somewhat blurry).With one seemingly unrelated website like Slusho.jp confirmed as being related to the movie, and with J.J. Abrams himself saying "the only site of ours that people have even FOUND is the 1-18-08.com site" (which sounds like it could be a lie to me since Slusho.jp is definitely related), I really don't think it's a stretch to think that EthanHaasWasRight.com is official and that there are (or will be) other related sites out there yet to be found. Let's also not forget that Paramount is the company responsible for removing both the Cloverfield trailers and the EthanHaasWasRight.com video messages from YouTube, which means at the very least, the company has legal rights to both.
Either way, I think we'll all know for sure by August 2nd. ;)

well, actually the www.slusho.jp site was really "found" (in the sense that people were talking about it in connection with Cloverfield) until after the AICN put the email up.
Also, Paramount doesn't necessarily own the rights to the Ethan Haas thing (whatever it may be - there's a rumor that it's related to the tabletop RPG, Alpha Omega) ... it could simply be a case of connection. ie: maybe all the original Ethan Haas videos used "Cloverfield" or "JJ Abrams" or "1-18-08" as keywords (considering that at the time everyone thought the two were related) and maybe Paramount just did some search for every video with those keywords and asked for them all to be removed. it's possible.
after all, the Haas videos are back up on YouTube now.

i dont know if you know this but, apparently, lizzy caplan, who is credited as cast on imdb was in a show called the class with fellow actor jason ritter, in the class jason ritter's name is ethan haas. someone mentioned to me that jason ritter is in cloverfield..but i didnt really see him in the trailer.
What do you guys think abou the new pic on 1-18-08? How many of these are we going to get I wonder?
The most recent picture does not really give too much information. It's a smoke filled scene...I am guessing shortly after the attack or explosion that happened minutes before...probably the party goers.

OK I went to the site "ethanhassknows" and cracked the code to see the video (its basically simon). Now I have another thing in fornt of me and I dont know how to crack that. Does anyone know what the heck to do with this object and all its symbols?
On the 1-18-08 site you can flip the pictures over and on two of them there are messages on the back
ok, I may get flack for this, but if you visit the slusho site you notice the addition of the 6 robots that represent flavors, which in turn combine together to make one super flavor or robot. That sounds a lot like how Voltron comes to be! I'm not saying it IS Voltron, but possibly something along the lines of a giant robot that helps defend against some creature or villian?? What do you guys think? I'm way off or does it make some sense???
it blows my mind how people are making leaps. Godzilla and Voltron have secured rights, and it isn't with paramount. OUT. Ethan Haas is a site for a video game called alpha omega... done.

Paramount removed the stuff from youtube *NOT* because they own the rights to both, but they own the rights to 01-18-08, and don't want something random associated with it.
